My only child graduated from primary school today. It was a very moving assembly, with children from all the classes in the school presenting all the graduates with hand made gifts. One of the classes even performed a rap they had made up for this occasion. I wasn’t sure how I was supposed to feel. I’m not one to make a big deal out of this kind of thing, life moves on. Should I have been emotional at my baby leaving School?. Alex looked fairly nonchalant too as if he was expecting to have felt more. Still, another chapter in his life ticked off and another box of school drawings, paintings, topics and maths books to find a home for in the loft, for us to find in a few years time and smile at the changes.I have so much work on at the moment I was resentful at having to interrupt my work to go to this graduation, but seeing my child wink at me through the crowd to say ‘thanks for coming, I really appreciate you gave up the time to be here for me’. I knew I’d done the right thing and was proud to have put my Son first. Congratulations Alex xx

It’s a great feeling to watch events in your children’s lives. Even if he didn’t look like he wanted you there, you know he is looking to see if you are there. Inside, he’s happy to see you. He’s lucky to have a mom like you.
Thank you so much Nancy Rose. These are the things he’ll remember when he is a Father and I hope he’ll make the effort to do the same xx
