Spring. My favourite time of year. The birds are eating our cereal, the neighbouring lambs are escaping into our fields, my chickens are scratching up my neatly wood chipped flowerbeds, the local deer are chewing at my poor fruit trees and the calves are in my potato bed. Yep. Definitely my favourite time of year.

Gardening is hard enough at the best of times, but with the added help from our animals it does seem to magnify the work, but how can I complain, when the latest culprits look this cute.

Surprisingly they were back in their pen by the time I caught up with them, looking as though butter wouldn’t melt (excuse the pun). But I didn’t imagine running out the back door to chase them off. (I just didn’t have the camera with me at that point).
