Have you been leafing through interior magazines and wishing you could make curtains like that? Then leaf no longer! With my professional tuition and your own imagination, your journey to curtain know how starts here. From simple pencil pleat curtains to plush triple pleat and eyelet headers. This one day workshop will teach you all the skills you need to make your own beautiful curtains.
So that we don't need to hire the local football pitch in order to spread out, we will be working on a scale model window measuring 95 cm x 85 cm that you can take home as a working reminder for when you tackle your own window.
During our time together we will discuss the suitability of fabrics, different lining and their uses. I will teach you how to work out the fabric quantities, pattern repeats, placement of your pattern and how to join fabrics seamlessly
I will show you how to measure a window correctly, Calculate drops, widths and hem allowances
And with my professional guidance you will construct a complete scale curtain with pencil pleat header tape to take home.
Don't worry if this seems a lot to take in. I won't abandon you just because the class is finished. When it comes to tackling your own project at home, I will still be here for phone, email and message support, and you can bring your project to show me if you've forgotten the next step or need help rectifying a mistake.
All materials, refreshments and a light lunch will be provided
